Ian Osborne

Ian Osborne was appointed project manager for the Grid Computing Now! Project in February 2005. Intellect is the UK trade association for the IT, telecoms and electronics industries. Its members account for over 80% of these markets and include blue-chip multinationals as well as early stage technology companies.

Intellect is leading the Grid Computing Now! project in partnership with the National e-Science Centre in Edinburgh, a world leader in Grid Technologies for e-Science, and CNR Ltd, a Bristol based management consultancy.

Ian has a Masters Degree in the Management of Technology, a joint degree awarded by the Universities of Sussex and Brighton in 1992. He is a Member of the British Computer Society and a Chartered Information Technology Professional, a member of the Association for Computing Machinery and an Associate Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

This session looks at the Best Practice policies and procedures and in particular the impact that ITIL is having on the support community.

Beyond ITIL ...

Michelle is ConnectSphere’s Training Director, and is an accredited ISEB trainer. She develops and delivers IT service management courses at all levels, with excellent client feedback and pass rates. She holds the ITIL V3 Manager’s Bridge Certification in Service Management, and is in the Institute of Service Managers. She has facilitated many client Workshops for both ITIL and ISO/IEC 20000 covering both process improvements and personal development sessions. She has represented IT at Board level, and managed the Business and Supplier relationship, and has played a lead role in two radical change programs, including the set up of a Shared Service Delivery model. Her responsibility has covered the process and governance of Service Management best practice.


Michelle Hales

Michelle has wide experience of the Service Desk, Service Level Management, Change and Release Management processes, and has worked on a number of organizational change programs. Michelle is an NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier, and has led NVQ Level 3 programs. Michelle has sat on the itSMF Marketing sub committee and is a Vice Chair for one of the itSMF Regional groups. She reviewed the BSI Code of Practice on IT Service Management that won an itSMF award in 1999. She has recently contributed to the ITIL V3 Service Transition book, and subsequent industry training.
